Elaine Tyson
An acknowledged industry expert
on circulation management,
audience development and direct
marketing, Elaine Tyson has more
than 40 years experience in the
magazine publishing industry.
She has worked for an impressive
list of national and international
companies since forming
Tyson Associates in 1982.
Prior to that she was a division
director of the former Macmillan
Publishing company and circulation
director for a number of consumer
and business-to-business magazines
including American Artist, Interiors,
Teacher and Sales & Marketing
Management.
Elaine is a guest lecturer at the
Columbia University Publishing
Course and a frequent speaker at industry functions. She writes for
the publishing trade press and
for many years wrote a column for Circulation Management
magazine. She is the recipient of
the 2010 Angelo R. Venezian Award
presented by The National Trade
Circulation Foundation each year
to an industry professional who
has contributed to the advancement
of the industry and the circulation
discipline.
Roy Beagley
As Director of Publishing Services since
1992, Roy manages a number of client
accounts. His publishing background
includes circulation management
positions at International Media Partners,
who were based in New York as well as
The Spectator, South Magazine and
The Economist Newspaper when he was
based in London.
He started his career handling newsstand
for The Economist in 1976 then moved
over to subscriptions the following year,
where he stayed until 1983.
From 1983 to 1988 he was at South
Publications and from 1988 to 1992 he
was responsible for newsstand and
subscriptions at The Spectator. He has
a solid experience in newsstand
sales and subscription marketing for
consumer and business publications as
well as extensive knowledge of mailing,
printing and airfreight businesses in
the U.K., Europe and Asia.
He is a contributor to the trade press and currently has a weekly column on audiencedevelopment.com. Roy is
a seminar leader at industry functions and has also lectured at the Radcliffe
Publishing Course. |
Karen Tyson
Karen Tyson, Vice President & Partner
of Tyson Associates, has worked in the
publishing industry since the company was founded in 1982.
Karen manages circulation for both paid
and controlled publications for a number
of clients and also buys all printing,
lettershop and other outside services
for clients as well as acting as the
circulation manager for several clients.
Prior to 1982 Karen worked in retail advertising and was a copywriter and broadcast traffic manager for a national chain of department stores.
